The Bearded Life: A macro-discussion on micro-conversations

Like a lot of my personal writing these days, my column for the July issue of the Southern Minnesota Scene got out of hand pretty quickly. The theme for the issue, I thought, was the "Minnesota" issue. My intent was to write about how I am not from here, but have lived here for almost a decade, and then kind of what the idea of "home" means.

But then I ran out of steam on that idea, and was just in kind of a shitty mood while I was trying to write it.
